Proyecto EDWIN<\/span><\/h2>
El proyecto EDWIN (Early Detection Wildfire Imaging Network) es una iniciativa del UTOPIA Fiber que vigila las zonas de alto riesgo de incendios forestales mediante c\u00e1maras de imagen t\u00e9rmica conectadas por fibra. EDWIN se encuentra a\u00fan en fase de desarrollo, ya que estamos dise\u00f1ando m\u00e9todos para analizar las im\u00e1genes en directo de estas c\u00e1maras y detectar autom\u00e1ticamente posibles amenazas. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLos incendios forestales representan un grave riesgo tanto para las personas como para las propiedades en Utah, donde, en 2019, aproximadamente 92,380 acres de tierra fueron destruidos por el fuego. Seg\u00fan el Departamento de Agricultura y Alimentaci\u00f3n de Utah, Utah tiene un promedio de 1,300 incendios forestales que queman 250,000 acres cada a\u00f1o. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLas c\u00e1maras termogr\u00e1ficas tienen una capacidad \u00fanica para detectar cambios m\u00ednimos de temperatura y la aparici\u00f3n de focos que podr\u00edan conducir a los bomberos a los incendios mucho antes de que el humo sea visible, lo que reducir\u00eda considerablemente el tiempo de respuesta y podr\u00eda salvar vidas y bienes.
